Words (as of now): Mama, Dada, Hi, Bye Bye, Up, Uh-Oh, Ba Ba (her bottle), Num-Num(her food), A-Boo, Ball, All Done, Book, Bath, No, Yeah, Emma, Ello, Teddy, Elmo...although some of more distinct (and used more) than others as she is just learning some.
When asked where the boat is on her highchair, she points to it, whether that's luck or not. Knows where her feet, nose, and head are. Likes to point to others mouths and tries to stick her fingers in it. Will clap on "If you're happy and you know it." She loves her books and loves to read. She enjoys her baths. She is becoming a pro crawler. Still not walking...maybe soon? Likes to walk with her toy walker. Walks along couch. Has stood on her own for a second a few times. Likes to climb the stairs! Pulls herself up. Likes to pull herself up on the TV stand and mess with the buttons. Thinks it's a game when you tell her no and pull her away...same thing with the cable cord. Need to come up with a solution about the TV. Right now we have boxes in front of it...not cool. Is still Miss PI (private investigator) as Nate calls her. Loves to get into and check out everything. Has recently found the toilets. Likes to crawl to Mom and Dads bathroom, pull herself up on the tub and turn on the water. When I told Nate that he taught her that and wasn't such a good thing, he replied "at least I taught her something." Just as long as she can't get into the tub, we may be ok. Likes to open and shut the doors with the doorstopper and say bye bye. Recently started to try and knock on walls/doors. Loves being outside and going on walks. We can't wait for better weather so we can get out more.
Has ten teeth (8 at 12 months...her bottoms molars recently came in and I think the top are on their way). Can be picky with her food, but generally a good eater. We are in between her homemade baby food and real people food. Not a big fan of her oatmeal or rice cereal but will eat it for mommy. Still likes cauliflower. Will sometimes eat her squash. Used to eat bannanas pretty well, now not so much. Sometimes will eat applesauce. The fruit department is lacking along with the meat. Tried to give her lunch meat, no go. Will eat chicken or beef if we are out in a restaurant and we give it to her. If she doesn't like the smell, she usually won't eat it. You can see her smell it before she takes a bite, pretty funny to us. Will sometimes say mmmm when eating. Likes french fries, mandarin oranges, ritz, graham crackers, and cheez-its. Tried cottage cheese, rice, beans. Not a fan of cheese in general. I guess when you eat tons of cheese when pregnant, it doesn't mean your child will like it:) Loves treats, but who doesn't. We had a bag of cookies on the couch. She pulled it down, pulled it open (guess didn't zip lock it good enough:)) and starting to eat the cookie. I couldn't help but laugh.
Still a good sleeper. We have our moments when she is sick or teething, but still generally sleeps about 12 hrs. Takes 1-2 naps depending on the day. You know she is awake cause she just talks. Will often find her standing up when going to get her out of her crib.
She is a happy girl. Becoming such a talker at times. So cute. Can be a whiner and has thrown a few fits already. Just keeps growing and growing. I love her smile and love hearing her laugh. I love her so much and feel so blessed to be her mom!
